TABRIZ (IRNA) -- Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki said here Friday as Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has emphasized broadening and strengthening of comprehensive ties with entire Caucasus region countries is a basic priority for Iran.

Addressing top provincial officials of East Azarbaijan Province, Mottaki referred to Iran's high security index, compared to other regional countries, saying, ""Despite enemies efforts aimed at creating unrest inside our country and disturbing Iran's relations with other regional countries, thanks to efforts made by country's diplomatic apparatus, today Iran's security index is much higher than that of the other regional countries.""
On latest status of our country's nuclear dossier, Mottaki said, ""Iran pursues its technical talks with the Agency and its political negotiations with the 5+1 group, that the United States representative, too, is at it, and we have achieved good results in those talks."" He further elaborated, ""Both the IAEA and the 5+1 group have accepted that Iran would attend the negotiations without any preconditions, and while keeping its current number of centrifuges, while from the Agency's point of the view, Iran has already presented convincing replies to entire posed questions, and solved the entire ambiguities."" Mottaki also referred to the recent course of events in Georgia and the Caucasus region, arguing, ""In those events the intentions of the United States and the Zionist regime are quite evident, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is opposed to war anywhere in the world, believing that both the regional and the international problems can be solved thoroughly in the course of negotiations and relying on sound diplomacy."" He reiterated at the end that the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs pursues the developments in that region alertly, in line with its duties to secure our own national interests.
